Have you ever wanted to relax while reading a book? "Destiny and Other Dilemmas" is perfect for that. I loved this story for so many reasons. Main character Brooke is someone I can relate to, a character who has so much in common with women in today's complicated world. She has a career, a marriage, and a son who has special medical needs. Somewhere along the way, she loses herself, and she invites the reader in to help her search for answers and make decisions. I felt as though I were riding along with Brooke as she covered the Dallas area in her sports car. As someone who has lived in Texas a little more than three years, I enjoyed reading about things that I have found to be true to this state and its wonderful natives. Unpredictable, sweet, and sometimes sad, this story has morals. People are trying to do the right thing. Uplifting. And somehow by reading this, we are reminded that we are not alone in our struggles. Flawed as we all are, the characters try to make sense of the chaos that throws everyone of us a sucker punch now and then. Great ending.

Fleur’s storytelling is absolutely beautiful. She creates the perfect balance of tears and laughter, with unexpected twists and turns. I loved the setting and found the author’s descriptions of the DFW area to be both accurate and hilarious. Texas charm at its best! This book is inspiring, giving well deserved accolades to every woman who aspires to be her very best, no matter what dilemmas life drops in her path. -Renee H, Amazon Reviewer
"The book is a fun and informative read with interesting twists and turns at the right points to keep you reading until the end. Fleur has captured the dilemmas of a woman handling many life issues at the same time very well. The female protagonist in this book is very relatable and feels like we are reading about someone we know or ourselves at many points. She captures the gray shades of all the important charters in the story very well. Nobody is perfect, and that is what makes us beautiful and is what makes the characters relatable and interesting. Fleur also delves deeply into the topic of food allergies. This book helped me understand the struggles someone with food allergies may have on a much deeper level, which will certainly help me in dealing with anyone with food allergies with greater empathy. Also, the trip around Dallas highways and viewing bluebonnets is an added bonus.” – Gowri Karanam, wife, avid reader, Akashic record & Tarot reader, consulting hypnotist

When Brooke is suddenly no longer where she expected to be she has to come to terms with how she arrived. She finds herself caught between two different men and two very different situations. Destiny and Dilemmas follows a year long story about how a woman learns to love who she is and who really loves her. She stumbles, she falls and eventually she gets up again. It's a sweet love story with enough twists to keep you wondering where it is all going to end up going. The end result may surprise you. -Lacey, Amazon Reviewer
I thoroughly enjoyed this extremely well written story. With themes of marriage and relationships, medical dangers and parenting, I was hooked by this portrayal of everyday life. The details of food allergies were handled expertly and sensitively, and bring much-needed awareness to this topic. The plot has unexpected twists, which I did not anticipate and the ending was as I had hoped it would be! A great read, which I highly recommend. -RA Hutchins, Amazon Reviewer

Five Stars from Mrs Greg. Reviewed in the United States on September 27, 2021. Verified Purchase. This book quickly captured my interest, once I got a couple of chapters in, I had a difficult time putting it down. I could relate to the main character, a working mom managing her home, career, children living in the Dallas Fort Worth area. All of the characters are easy to relate to and the author did an excellent job of incorporating life dealing with a child with food allergies. It flowed very naturally in the book and I learned something as I read as well. Even though the book deals with complicated marriage issues, I found it to be uplifting and a relaxing read. -Mrs. Greg, Amazon Reviewer

Grab a box of tissues, a bottle of wine, and block off your day to cuddle up with this heartfelt story of loss, love, bravery, and self-discovery. When Brooke’s life takes a sudden left turn, she is found facing more problems than her broken marriage. As a single mom of a child with food allergies working in Corporate America, she is also faced with random panic attacks, and the adventures of starting life anew after a 15-year marriage. Every decision brings Brooke closer to finding the person she is meant to be as the fog of grief slowly dissipates. On more than one occasion, I found myself asking, “So, what is Brooke gonna do now?” Or “Will she choose dark and mysterious, tall and handsome, or neither?” Aside from the bit of legal jargon and descriptive job duties, Destiny and Other Dilemmas was difficult to put down! I had to keep reading to find out how Brooke’s story ended and, I can say, she had me guessing until the end. -Katie, Amazon Reviewer

WOW! This book spoke to me in so many ways I will try my best to convey the impact it had on me. The MC is a married woman with a son who suffers from many allergies some of which are life threatening if not handled properly. She is struggling with her husband and the changes she is seeing and feeling from him. Nothing in terms of shouting fights or an obvious a-ha moment that would indicate a relationship end. It was more of a slow detachment with loss of an emotional and a physical connection. She has a career mom, who is responsible for all the food prep and procurement of her sons menu. She is trying so hard to make it all work and has stopped living for her, and she doesn't even realize it.
She and her husband decide to try separation and see where that takes their marriage. He is still involved with the son and they communicate regularly. After time though, she suspects he is seeing someone else and possibly was before they split. She in turn has a man who is showing interest in her, and she can't deny that she finds him attractive as well. While she is able to go on a date and even kiss him, she still is married and does not want to betray that. She is in a place where she needs to decide to move on and divorce or see if things can be worked out with her marriage.
I won't spoil the rest as I really want other to read and enjoy the book as much as I did. In summary she gets put through some very difficult situations that thrust her into unknown territory. She is the only one who is truly able to save herself, her life and her sons life. What will she do?
The issues with the sons allergies are throughout the book, and it really brings to light the reality of so many issues that people with food allergies deal with daily. It's scary. Yet she has found a way to not only deal with the problems but is able to quickly adapt to newly arising issues she is faced with. She is one hell of a strong woman, who really deserves to find her happiness.
I was delighted with every aspect of this book. It was sweet, a bit angsty, informational and inspiring. I loved it! I highly recommend it everyone!
